There are many great reasons to swing by the “BBC”. Purchased in 2015 from the family that started it, the BBC continues to produce award winning beers that put it on the map when both Tonya Cornett and Ian Larkin were brewing away night and day. With new ownership came new brewer Zach Beckwith, and the capacity to brew even more beer. The purchase of Sunriver Brewing’s 15 barrel system in addition to North Rim’s 30 barrel fermentation tanks in 2017, allowed the BBC to keep up with new demand. In addition to the brewpub downtown the BBC now had a production facility (North Rim’s previous spot) on the east side of town. The brewpub also pipes delicious beer from the 7 barrel system upstairs directly to the taps downstairs. It cannot possibly be any fresher. The kitchen, meanwhile, turns out solid pub fare – Burger, check. Nachos, check. Chicken Wings, check.

Sandwiched between historic cinder block walls, the indoor portion of the brewpub is an intimate remodeled space with a 950 sq/ft wrap-around deck, and outdoor seating area along the Deschutes River. It’s become the go-to downtown pub for locals and summer visitors alike. While the brewpub offers more capacity during the summer months, there’s heated seating with a gas fire pit just outside – cold pints, warms buns. But wait, there’s more. In 2021 the BBC opened a craft beer, craft cocktail lounge concept called “Waypoint”. While there’s no river view, there’s plenty of indoor seating, and even an ale brewed specifically this this location aptly named “The Grove Pale Ale”.
